Rich Satisfying Life Study
“Juggling,” “multi-tasking”, “harried” are the words that frequently describe my days. Just as I settled down at the computer, thoughts focused on writing this note to you, my daughter needed me to quiz her on history and my husband needed help in the yard. Be right back –
Are your days like mine? Rushing to make appointments on time because I don’t want to be “that” woman who doesn’t have her act together. Excusing myself from those small “God prompts” because I’m hurrying through my day.
I’m longing to trade my “just-get-through-it life” for the “rich and satisfying life” Jesus promised. The Bible records these words of Jesus, “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10NLT). The King James Version reads like this: “I have come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Let’s make a date each day for three weeks. Grab a cup of coffee (or hot tea, if you’re a non-coffee drinker like me), the scriptures and a journal as we together explore the lives of some women who discovered a “rich and satisfying” life. We’ll throw in a few who missed the boat as well. There are lessons to be learned there, too.
